Bronchitis Acute Chronic Cough Shortness of Breath Lungs

Bronchitis is inflammation to the airways leading to your lungs. It can result in coughing, congestion, mucus production and shortness of breath. There are two types of bronchitis: short-term or acute bronchitis and long-term as seen with COPD. Although a common respiratory disorder in the USA, babies, young children, smokers and the elderly have an increased risk of developing acute bronchitis. 

 


Common Symptoms

  • Chest pain or pressure
  • Coughing up clear or colored mucus
  • Fatigue
  • Shortness of breath or rapid breathing
  • Wheezing in lungs
