The common cold is an upper respiratory tract infection transmitted by airborne droplets or direct contact with infected secretions. Antibiotics are not necessary for colds because it is a viral infection. In many cases, over-the-counter medications may be used for treatment at home. However, in cases of severe breathing issues and returning to your school/workplace faster, our doctors can offer treatments and prescriptions, if deemed appropriate, to help speed up or relieve the symptoms of the cold.
