A concussion is a violent jarring, contusion or shaking that results in a disturbance of brain function or a mild traumatic brain injury (TBI). It can happen after an impact, such as in sports, or a car accident. Undiagnosed concussions may lead to long-term brain injury for thinking, memory, balance, speech, hearing or vision. If you or a loved one has suffered a trauma to the head, it is important to see a doctor as soon as possible to rule out a concussion.
